Apotropaic emerged from three decades of lived practice, formal study, and cross-cultural spiritual work. Its foundations lie in ancient wisdom traditions rooted in the principle of protection and energetic balance.

From age twelve, an innate sensitivity to energetic guidance shaped Monica's path. Raised in a household where witch's bells, ritual candle-lighting, and folk wisdom were daily practices, the principle that "each witch finds their way" became foundational. Early teachings through a family members structured cleansing practices and spiritual protection protocols provided the framework for decades of dedicated refinement.

A pivotal decisive moment occurred two years ago when a family, whose children experienced severe spiritual disturbances engaged with Monica for relief. After finding that traditional European cleansing techniques were not sufficient Monica collaborated with an Indigenous male who shared specific protection techniques and the strength that comes from the ancestors of each location, the mobs that lived on that part of country and their connections to it. Once the two practices were entwined lasting relief was achieved. This breakthrough birthed Apotropaic's founding mission: to serve those who cannot heal or move energy themselves, particularly in contexts of cultural complexity, mixed or conflicting religious beliefs or specific moments in life that require support and aid to move through.

This type of collaboration was crystalized through time spent with elders in the North West, Pilbara and Great Southern regions of Western Australia and when Monica's son began playing the didgeridoo. The ties he has to country through his bloodline, mixed with his part European heritage and his own spiritual beliefs created an energy Monica had never seen or felt before. It was made abundantly clear that weaving all the different aspects of an individuals life creates such energetic strength that as a practitioner there is the opportunity to shift energy in a way that can truly bring back some balance into the world. Once a critical lack of available help was noticed, Monica stepped forward and Apotropaic began to offer its services.

Professional credentialing as an Energy Healer and Crystal Energy Practitioner through an accredited healing academy provided formal framework to established expertise. Specialization in crystal energy applications was validated through work with a charged crystal energy balancing platter that permanently resolved recurring energetic disturbances for another client.

Apotropaic was formally established in March 2025 to address the gaps revealed through three decades of practice. The business formalises lived experience into structured services: mobile environmental clearing that honours cultural specificity, personalised protective tool creation, and education in self-protection practices. It represents a dedication to restoring energetic balance in an increasingly complex spiritual landscape—a response to genuine need and a commitment to serving those navigating energetic complexity with wisdom, expertise and respect.
